Soundly is an independently owned hearing health research tool. Our reviews are conducted by hearing aid wearers and audiologists. We physically review the leading hearing aids on the market for sound quality, comfort, durability, and more. Our review process starts with hands-on unboxing and days, weeks, or months of wear. We also record live sound demos using a calibrated binaural microphone (read more here). We experiment with backend fitting software for prescription products and use test box measures to measure prescriptive accuracy and flexibility. Our work is funded through reader support. When you buy through our links, we may earn a commission. Read more about our story here.

PROFESSIONAL FITTING

Widex Moment hearing aids are focused on sound quality. Instead of building in features like fitness tracking or rechargeability, Widex has made voices clearer through faster sound processing. The Widex Moment model processes sound 5X faster than their already fast previous generations of hearing aids, leading to less distortion. Widex custom-molded hearing aids come in three sizes; each size uses the same underlying technology. None of the Widex Custom molded products offer Bluetooth or rechargeability.

Widex Moment 440 is the top technology level available in the line. The 440 comes with a complete set of sound processing features, including wind noise reduction, speech enhancement, and 15 adjustment bands of customization for your audiologist. If you regularly travel or spend time in groups, this top-end level will probably be worth the additional cost.

  • After an initial fitting, you can connect with your care provider remotely through the Widex app (requires an additional accessory and is not available for the smallest CIC micro size)

The breakdown

Widex Moment custom hearing aids come at a comparable price to the other top-of-the-line products like Starkey Evolv AI and Phonak Virto Paradise. So what makes this hearing aid different?

Widex Moment is laser-focused on one thing, sound quality. Nearly every innovation within the Widex Moment line goes back to this goal. They don't have rechargeable batteries or Bluetooth connections, but these are devices to consider if you want fast and clear sound.

The tech inside

Widex Moment hearing aids process sound in .5 milliseconds, 5X faster than earlier models. This speed increases comfort and speech clarity.

AI feedback and learning: Widex uses its app to gather real-time feedback from users in all kinds of listening environments. Every day thousands of customers tell the hearing aids which sound settings they prefer, and Widex uses this data to get smarter over time.

Getting up close

Widex Moment custom hearing aids come in three sizes, completely in the canal micro, completely in the canal, and XP. The two larger hearing aids offer remote programming and longer battery life.

Widex Moment offers three color choices, including light beige, clay brown, and dark brown.
