If you use an Android phone and you’re looking at hearing aids, you’ve probably run into a lot of confusing information. Some devices stream music but not phone calls. Others only work smoothly with iPhones. And then there are new terms like “Auracast” and “Bluetooth Low Energy” that sound promising but aren’t always explained clearly.

This guide is here to break it down in plain English. We’ll cover the key terms you actually need to know, show you which hearing aids work best with Android phones right now, and give you a peek at the future of hearing aid connectivity.

By the end, you should feel confident about what matters today—and what’s worth waiting for.

Here's our recent breakdown of the best Android-compatible hearing aids on the market. 👇

Key Terms to Know

  • ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids): Google’s system for connecting hearing aids directly to Android devices. It works, but it can be glitchy—especially with phone calls.
  • MFi (Made for iPhone): Apple’s system for hearing aid and Bluetooth connection.
  • Bluetooth Classic: A connection style that treats hearing aids more like regular headphones. For Android users, this usually means fewer hiccups.
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio: A newer standard rolling out now. It promises better battery life, clearer sound, and universal compatibility across Android and iPhone in the long run.
  • Auracast: A new feature within Bluetooth LE Audio. It allows public places—like airports, theaters, and gyms—to broadcast audio directly to your hearing aids, similar to how Wi-Fi hotspots work.

With all that out of the way, let’s get into the best Android-compatible Bluetooth hearing aids in 2025.

Our Review
+

Sennheiser All Day Clear is our top-selling and best-rated OTC hearing aid at Soundly.com. We’ve tested this product extensively—in the audiology test box, in real-world noisy environments, and through thousands of Soundly customer experiences in 2025.

Soundly offers a complimentary setup call with every purchase — a helpful perk for customers and a valuable way for us to hear firsthand which products are performing best.

At-Home Delivery

Sennheiser All Day Clear is made by Sonova, the world’s leading hearing aid manufacturer. Unlike traditional in-clinic devices that average around $5,000 a pair, All Day Clear ships directly to your home (Soundly offers free 2-day shipping) and lists for $999 per pair.

Rechargeable with Bluetooth

These hearing aids deliver 18–20 hours of battery life on a single charge and offer reliable call and music streaming for both iPhone and Android users. Thanks to Sonova’s Bluetooth Classic connection, pairing is easier than most OTC devices—especially for Android users.

App Programming

As a self-fitting product, All Day Clear uses a smartphone app to adjust the hearing aids to your specific hearing loss. The app isn’t the most feature-rich on the market, but in our testing (and from what we hear from customers), it’s the easiest to set up and navigate.

Sound Quality

Likely your biggest question: how do they sound? In short—excellent. You can hear Sonova’s signature processing in these devices. They handle sudden sounds, wind, feedback, and background noise in a way we’d consider market-leading for OTC self-fitting hearing aids.

Notes & Watchouts

  • Best suited for mild-to-moderate hearing loss. If your loss is more significant or complex, in-clinic care is still the right move. Take our hearing test to better understand your loss.
  • The charger must be plugged into the wall while in use. A separate power pack is available if you want mobile charging.

Bottom line: Sennheiser All Day Clear sits at the top of our list for self-fitting OTC hearing aids. It delivers great sound, simple control, and strong value from a world-class manufacturer.

Our Review
+

Jabra Enhance Select is one of the most popular premium OTC hearing aids at Soundly.com, especially for customers who want more guidance during setup. We’ve tested this product across a range of environments—from quiet conversations to noisy public settings—and consistently found it to deliver reliable, well-balanced sound.

One of the biggest advantages of Jabra Enhance Select is the ability for audiologists to remotely adjust your hearing aids after purchase. This creates a more guided experience compared to fully self-fitting devices.

At-Home Delivery

Jabra Enhance Select ships directly to your home with fast delivery and generous return periods. While it follows an OTC model, the addition of remote care makes it feel closer to an in-clinic experience.

Rechargeable with Bluetooth

These hearing aids offer all-day battery life and seamless Bluetooth streaming for calls and media on both iPhone and Android devices.

App Programming + Remote Care

The app offers a wide range of controls, and remote adjustments from professionals are a major advantage compared to most OTC devices. Unlike fully self-fitting devices, Jabra Enhance Select allows licensed professionals to fine-tune your hearing aids remotely. You still have app controls, but you’re not doing it alone.

What Users Say
+

Phonak Infinio Sphere receives highly positive reviews, with many users noting significant improvements over previous Phonak models and competing brands. Wearers praise its sound quality and robust Bluetooth streaming. The main complaints we found relate to the larger size and occasional automatic mode switching. Some highlights from our partners at ZipHearing.

  • "Wearing these new Phonak Sphere Hearing Aids has been very comfortable and an easy adjustment for me. These are my first hearing aids and the sound with them on sounds very natural. I've been able to understand my friends in a crowded restaurant and have been able to turn off the closed captioning on my TV. The Bluetooth feature has worked well for both streaming music and phone calls. I haven't found any drawbacks yet!" - Eileen
  • "I have been wearing hearing aids for 6 years. I started my journey with ReSound which lasted nearly 5 years. I then went to Costco and discovered Costco aids are fine for people with modest hearing loss, but I needed more. I then went with Phonak Sphere and have been very happy. I am active and discovered early on the aids I had purchased were being negatively impacted by sweat. Phonak replaced them with water resistant aids for a very small charge. I am very pleased with my new aids." - David
  • "Sound quality is excellent. Definitely an improvement over previous HA. Still trying it out in noisy environments but I definitely see an improvement when in noisy situations in understanding speech." - Ken
  • "I am currently wearing the Phonak Audio Sphere 90 hearing aids. Had them about two weeks now and the sound quality is very good. I am a bit frustrated with the Automatic program selection as it does not really seem to pick the correct program for the situation. I have not noted the sphere function working as of yet, even though I have been in a few very noisy situations. They are comfortable and only took a few days to adapt to the thicker design of the body. The battery life is exceptional. After wearing them for 15 to 16 hours they still have 45 percent batter life. The only other complaint is the charger case. It is not easy to get they in and almost kink the wires to the domes. I wish they were bigger like my previous Marvels." - Brian

  • Media streaming, however, is one-way only. As long as the phone is compatible, users can stream audio. For FaceTime or Teams calls, streaming is bi-directional.
  • Vivia uses Apple's MFI connection and Android's ASHA connection to stream content through Bluetooth.

Auracast and the Future of Connectivity

Bluetooth streaming in hearing aids started with Apple’s MFi program in 2013, giving iPhone users a big head start. Android followed with ASHA, but the experience was often clunky.

Now we have Bluetooth LE Audio, announced in 2020 as a universal upgrade: clearer sound, better battery life, and no more Apple-vs-Android divide.

The catch? Rollout is slow and your phone, hearing aids, and even TVs need to support it. Today, only some newer Android phones (like Galaxy and Pixel) and a few hearing aids are compatible.

Eventually LE Audio will also powers Auracast, which lets public places broadcast audio directly to your hearing aids—think boarding announcements at the airport or a gym instructor’s mic.

Google has already built Auracast into Android 16, while Apple is enthusiastic but hasn’t set a timeline. Full adoption will take a few years, but it’s a glimpse of where hearing aids are headed.

If you are trying to connect your Android device to a pair of hearing aids using ASHA, follow these instructions. 👇

  • Open your device's Settings app
  • Tap Accessibility
  • Tap Hearing aids
  • Tap Continue
  • Tap Pair new device.
  • Choose your hearing aid from the list of available devices. Make sure hearing aids are in pairing mode. If you have more than one hearing aid, wait for the first hearing aid to connect, then tap the other hearing aid in the list of available devices. After both are paired, the status displays a message like "Active, left and right."

What About In-Ear Hearing Aids?

There are a few solid in-ear hearing aid options—like the Sony CRE-C20, Eargo 8, and Sony CRE-E10.

All of these products will work with Android for setup and adjustments through their apps.

The limitation is in Bluetooth streaming: Sony and Eargo models don’t stream music or calls, and the CRE-E10 only streams with iPhones.

Eargo Link is one possible workaround, but for most Android users who want full streaming, a behind-the-ear style device like Sennheiser All Day Clear is still the best bet.

Final Thoughts

If you’re an Android user, the good news is you don’t have to switch phones just to get great hearing aid performance.

Products with Bluetooth Classic offer reliable, headphone-like connections. And if you’re a tech-forward buyer, devices that support LE Audio and Auracast could future-proof your investment as the ecosystem grows.

For now, focus on the basics: clear sound, comfortable fit, and a device that matches your lifestyle. The Android ecosystem is finally catching up—and in some ways, it’s now leading the way into the future of hearing aid connectivity.
